Childcare Information
Christ the Life Childcare

Our childcare program at Christ the Life meets the needs of our school families in many different ways.

  • Jesus is taught in our Childcare.  Time is spent each day learning about who Jesus is and what He has done for us.  His love is modeled to the students by our teachers.  Our childcare children attend chapel every Wednesday morning with our Pastor in church.
  • Our staff makes our program work.  They do a great job planning activities, singing songs, tying shoes and taking care of the children's needs while they are in our care.
  • Our childcare program is open from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  This helps parents with busy work schedules, who may not be able to drop their child off for preschool or pick them up when school is over.  Our childcare teachers will walk all students to their preschool class before it starts and our preschool teachers will walk them back to childcare after school is over.  Both our preschool and childcare are in the same building so no transportation is required for the children.
  • We have a large indoor play area so our children have room to move even if the weather outside does not cooperate.  We have a parachute, scooters, many types and sizes of balls, tumbling mats, bean bags, hula hoops, Frisbees and a 60 inch diameter cage ball.  We provide many different games to help your child get their wiggles out.
  • Our large outdoor play area is fenced in with lots of room to run.  It is on the east side of our building so it is somewhat shielded from the wind.  In the winter, we have a gentle sledding hill with plenty of sleds for the children.  This fall, we hope to have our $24,000 play structure installed.  It will be brightly colored and have plenty of climbing and sliding structures for our children.
  • Our billing is set up differently than most other centers.  Our rates are based on how many hours your child is with us.  The more hours a week your child is in childcare, the lower the hourly rate gets.  Parents turn in a schedule a week in advance to let us know their need for childcare for the next week.  Many parents have expressed gratitude for paying for their child's scheduled hours instead of paying a flat weekly rate.

Our program is for children 2 1/2 and potty trained - 12 years of age. If you would like to ask us any questions about our childcare program, please call us at (262)-547-7315.  We would like to take the time to show you ways our program can met the needs of your child.

Our childcare room was recently overhauled last summer.  Two small rooms were turned into one big room and a child sized bathroom was added.  The classroom was painted over Easter break and decorated by our church members and childcare staff.

What sets us apart from other Early Childhood Programs?

Our program is a mission outreach of our congregation. Every school day, we spend time talking about who Jesus is and what He has done for us. We use Jesus as an example for how to treat others. We share different Bible stories each week and some of our classroom themes are about Bible stories. We teach our students different prayers before snack and our Pastor leads a weekly chapel service on Wednesday mornings for our children.

Our program also prepares children for Kindergarten. This includes:

  • Academics:
    • Letter Recognition
    • Letter Writing
    • Letter Sounds
    • Colors
    • Shapes
    • Patterns
  • Socialization:
    • How to handle themselves in a large group
    • Taking turns
    • Sharing
    • How to handle problems
    • How to meet new people

We assess each child early in the school year to help us know how to challenge them individually.

Our large classrooms have lots of windows and two skylights and a reading loft with a playhouse underneath. We have a large activity room outside our classrooms for playing games and running around. Our new playground structure is a great place to use some of the excess energy that 3 and 4 year olds have. Our church owns 29 acres of land around our school. This allows us to have a nature trail and a wooded area with lots of wildlife to see. During winter, when we have snow, we can go sledding on a hill in our fenced in play area.

Our 2 teachers bring their own strengths to the program. Mrs. Stoltenberg loves books, writing and art. She adds many creative touches to art projects and her students are always creating something new.

Mr. Boris enjoys his role as a positive male role model. He loves science.  Science is a lot like play. We try something and see what happens and then we can try it differently to see if the results change.  We do many experiments during the year. Some examples are:

  • Launching model rockets
  • Dissecting fish
  • Egg Drop (student build boxes to protect eggs from breaking when dropped from ladder)
  • Digging up fossils
  • Mixing concrete
  • Playing with ice

Our school is unique and growing. Please make an appointment so we can show you our facility and how our program can impact your child’s life.
