Please help your child find their locker to place the backpack and coat in when they arrive at school. Please bring your child’s folder for send home papers to the classroom and put it in their cubby. Please make sure the folder is labeled with your child’s name. Your child’s change of clothing can stay in their backpack. Book orders: Our school will send home book orders once a month. If you are interested in ordering any of the books, please fill out the order slip on the last page of the book order. If is very important to write you child’s name on each order slip. Payment can be made by check (preferred) made out to Scholastic, cash or an online payment. Once all student orders (online and classroom) are collected, Mrs. Stoltenberg will send the orders to Scholastic. If online ordering goes well for her, Mr. Boris will give it a go in his class. Shoes Please make sure your child is wearing comfortable running shoes to school. Please do not send your child in flip flops, crocs, or open toed sandals. If our staff feels that your child’s shoes are unsafe for an activity at school, we reserve the right to have your child sit out of the activity. Bathroom Breaks We will remind our students many times a day to use the bathroom. I would like to inform you about our policy on potty training and preschool. We would like each child to be fairly competent at using the bathroom at school by themselves. This includes: clothing your child can manage without much assistance, and wiping themselves. We understand that accidents happen, therefor each student is to have a change of clothes in their backpack just in case. You are free to include more changes of clothing if you are unsure about your child’s performance or if you forget to replace the change of clothes after they have been used. One accident over a 2-week span is normal, 1 accident per day for 2 weeks means your child is not completely ready for school at the start of the year. Your child's teacher will contact you if a pattern of accidents develop. If you notice your child comes home with clothes that are not yours, this means you child is wearing a CTL change of clothes and we could not find any change of clothes in your child’s backpack. Please wash the CTL clothes and return them to us as soon as you can. If you have any questions about our policy, please see Mr. Boris. |
